Please check out my new website, the Beader's Resource Guide for a comprehensive site for beaders.
Beading
is definitely an addictive hobby. It's amazing how many beads
you can amass in a very short period of time! If you're
interested in beading as well, I've added this page for some resources,
etc. that I use. Bead
Shows I
usually attend several bead shows during the year, and am SO lucky that
the BIG one - the Bead
and Button Show - is held
here in my hometown. My other favorite show is the Art Glass and
Bead Show in
Madison. Maybe about 1/4 of the size
of Bead and Button show, but I really like going to this
one. Hopefully we won't have a blizzard going on in 2010 and
I'll be able to make it. Ahh and I just caught this one as
well - Knot Just Beads
added a fall sale now. I try to attend their shows in spring,
since it's a long wait until June for the Bead and Button show to come
around again!
Bead
Stores - Local I'm
lucky that there are several bead stores in Wisconsin, especially in
the Milwaukee/Waukesha area. Two of my favorites are
Eclectica Beads,
and Midwest
Beads. I also frequent my local Michaels
stores since they have a wide selection of beading and jewelry
materials, plus they have a lot of sales! Bead
Stores - Online Sometimes
the best and most economical way to get beading supplies, especially if
you're not as fortunate to have a bead store near you, is to
order online. Here are a few of my favorite online shops: Firemountain
Gems - HUGE selection of beads
and supplies. I love them! Get a free catalog if you don't
already have one! Thunderbird
Supply Company - seems to have
to best prices on sterling silver wire, which you can order by the
inch/foot. Artbeads.com
- nice selection, and free shipping! Fusionbeads.com -
also offers free shipping. Last
